Norway produces more than 10 tons of waste every year. The country favours recycling and reusing, and everything that can’t be dealt with this way, everything that, in most countries, would end up in a landfill, is used to produce energy. But this strategy, aiming at reducing the country’s dependency on fossil fuels, is meeting an unexpected barrier: Norway doesn’t have enough waste to feed its incinerators. The country that stands as the third largest exporter of oil and gas in the world is now importing waste…
